After a 6-hour bus ride followed by a 2-hour flight, we finally arrived in Santa Cruz de la Sierra, where our LATAM trip begins. The name of the city means "Holy Cross of the Mountains". It is the largest and most populous city in Bolivia, located at the foot of the Andes and in the Amazon basin. We got welcomed by a tipical tropical weather and a little city center tour gave us a little insight into what we can expect of life in Bolivia. On the way we got inspired by lots of small shops and markets with a huge variety. From the Plaza 24 de Septiembre, we could see the Catedral Metropolitana Basílica menor de San Lorenzo, which was consecrated in 1915. After that, we had the pleasure to enter the Gobierno Autónomo Municipal de Santa Cruz, the place where political decisions for the department of Santa Cruz are made.
